L.A. Kosta

L.A. Kosta is a Los Angeles based multi-dimensional artist. Kosta is not only an award winning illustrator and caricaturist but he also creates fine art through photography and traditional media. Kosta immigrated to the United States in 1991 from Russia, consequently combining traditional Russian art techniques with American customs. Presently he uses his artistic creativity in designing animation for the popular children's television series Rugrats . His work appeared in the Chicago Tribune and the Washington Post. Kosta was sought after by Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon and for Columbia Tristar/Sony Pictures to work on various projects. For several years he worked closely on collaborations with Playboy creating a wide variety of humorous caricatures.

Among his many talents, Kosta is an amazingly shrewd photographer. His love of irony and kitsch is apparent in his photographic compositions that give a witty interpretation of American mass consumerism. Kosta's work questions the world we inhabit and encourages us not to take consumerism so seriously. This reflects Kosta's professional work, combining the alternate universe of cartoons and reality to remind us about the endless possibilities of individual imagination.
