Etching, Photogravure, and Mixed Media
NEW COLLABORATION BETWEEN PUBLISHER LEV MOROSS
AND PRINTER PASCAL GIRAUDON
Lev Moross, president of Art Territory International
a fine art publishing company based in Los Angeles
is proud to announce a new collaboration between
master printer Pascal Giraudon and Art Territory
International.
Giraudon specializes in intaglio, etching and
photogravure. He learned the skills of printmaking
with Jacques Frélaut at Atelier La Courrière
in Paris where he worked with Marc Chagall, Joan
Miró and Henry Moore among others. In 1973
Giraudon opened his own studio in Nice which became
a centre of cultural interest and exchange. In
1984 he moved to Los Angeles where he has been
working as an independent printer ever since.
Lev Moross and Pascal Giraudon began their professional
relationship over fifteen years ago. Since then,
they have collaborated on various projects and
furthered their mutual passion for all forms of
printmaking.
The large infrastructure and diverse activity
of Art Territory International allows for their
artistic collaboration to prosper, giving a distinct
contemporary feel to the age old practice of etching.
If you are interested in any etching, photogravure,
or mixed media please contact us for more information.
Silk-screen:
Silkscreen: A stencil process of printmaking in
which an image is
imposed on a screen of
silk or other fine mesh ,
with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance,
and ink is
forced through the mesh onto the printing surface .
Also called serigraphy and
screen-printing. Lev Moross, founder of Art Territory,
has over thirty years of experience with printing and
an innovator in the field of serigraphy. Serigraphy is
a new version of the silk-screen process, boasting many
improvements over that traditional reproduction method.
The technique of printing layers of transparent colors
gives the overall hues an intense depth of detail. Usually
silk-screening is used for high quality fine art editions
but please keep in mind that the same process can also
be used for the creation of new masterpieces.
